We are now in the final week here in Boise before we hit the road and embark on the next step of the journey. The last few weeks have been quite busy, even though Eliza planned to have some down time after wrapping up work. It seems things haven’t slowed down at all, but instead are ramping up - which is very exciting!
At the end of February we had the wonderful opportunity to share our vision and plans for the school with our home church in Meridian. The congregation gathered around us at the end of the service and prayed for us and the ways God is going to lead us and use us in the time ahead - it was very encouraging. At last count, there are 27 students on the school so far and we have already begun to connect with a few of our classmates on Facebook and are excited to get to meet them in person very soon. We have included some more specific information about the course that you can check out on the Training page.
In other breaking news, Eliza is very pleased to have passed her driving test this week and for the first time, will be a proud owner of a drivers license, which has been a big goal for her during our time in Idaho.
Apart from those things, we have been spending quality time with family and friends and working on our seemingly endless “To do” list! We combined those two things last week by spending a couple days out on Tim’s Aunt and Uncles’ farm having some time with them and working on the car to get it ship shape for the long drive south. We even made our own cargo carrier from parts of an old bed frame, it attaches to the tow hitch and will carry tools, extra fuel and our camping gear. Tim did a great job replacing the shocks and ball joints, despite stumbling upon a couple extra issues along the way. Eliza even got to try her hand at metal work becoming a ‘pro’ on the band saw and bench grinder - but the blow torch was her favorite! ;)
We appreciate your prayers as we wrap up things here and travel down to Mexico next week. We’ll keep you posted!
Adios!
Tim and Eliza
