More testimonies from Antorcha...

On Thursdays we go out with a couple of people from our school to lead a fellowship/bible study with the new believers in the nearby community of Antorcha. In a previous post we shared about people coming to know the Lord as result of taking our teaching to the people. It’s is now a few weeks later and we continue to see these precious people come together, thirsty for more of God. One young man had been struggling with depression and other health problems for 2 years, our team led him to the Lord and have been praying for more life and healing to come. When I first met him he could barely get out of bed but on Thursday, when we came to visit, he met us at the door with a bright and smiling face. In just a few weeks he had sensed a great change in life. I shared with him a word I had from scripture and a testimony of God how had moved my life and strengthened me in hard times. We have been encouraging him to join us for the bible study, so far he had not been that keen to come. This week he decided to join us and was really engaging with what was being shared. We are working together with some of the long term YWAMers to see these new believers supported as they walk out their new faith. Please join us in giving thanks for the work that God is doing in the community and the lives that are being changed.

Intership: Where are we headed next... I bet you are wondering what is happening next after our lecture phase. Well we haven’t been holding out on you, it’s just taken us a while to get things into place and see where God is leading us over the rest of the year. Now at least we have a basic plan. On the 27th of June we graduate from our school and then on the 30th we head out to…Phoenix, Arizona! We will be there for 3 weeks working with an urban development project called Collaboration for Community Transformation. We will volunteer with them and learn from them how to do community development in a urban setting. We are going with a small team from our school and it will be a lot of fun continuing the journey with them. After our time in Phoenix we will then come back to the base in Tijuana and have a couple weeks rest and some time with friends and family who are coming through LA at the beginning of August. After that we take off to do the second part of our internship, joining with a team from YWAM Costa Rica working in village in southern Costa Rica, called Bambu. It’s “in the sticks” and you can’t see it on google maps but if you go south-west of Bri Bri (Limon area) and see a fork in the river right by the border with Panama, you’re there. Or you can look at the trees by clicking here :) Our team will join a couple who have been living in Bambu for some time now and want to see more work started in the community. We’ll tell you more as things unfold but we plan to be in Costa Rica from mid August until early December.

Until next time, adios!
